Rooftop Groove that I know as a Hip-Hop groove but it also lends itself to a glide. There is also another step, I believe stemming from Dancehall, that is called the Rooftop so I have added all of these here within this Tutorial.

The Shamrock Groove.

The dance step called the “All In”.

STEPS/FOOTWORK

A Basic Top Rock Step.

One of my favorite Top Rock Moves!

You see this step in many ways and in many forms throughout Hip-Hop & House. It is a great step that offers many variations and will help with weight shift.

Funky and groovy step involving a heel/toe. Great for learning how to use feet and weight shifting.

Pas de bouree is a step you will always see in dance. It is so much fun to do and is one of my favorite steps. It’s good for weight shifting, rhythm, traveling and turning. This tutorial walks you through the step and adds on with a little quarter turn drill.

This is the first way I learned how to glide. We will eventually get into more advanced but here is the beginner drill!

This Heel Toe Step is the Dancehall/Hip-Hop version as opposed to House version down below.

The Tone Wop is a dance I use quite often in my choreography, but it is also a main component of Lite Feet Dance. If you want to learn more about “Lite Feet” check out Chrybaby and E-Solo.

A Ball Change with a Step and a Groove used often in Hip-Hop and House.

A basic breakdown of Boogaloo Rolls that are used in Popping or sometimes Hip-Hop routines.

WAACKING

Basic Arm Roll of Waacking. Link to Princess Lockeroo’s Classes can be found HERE.

My favorite arm roll. I would say this is an Adv/Beg Technique.

Posing within Waacking

Lines with you arms and moving them at two different tempos. This is an Advanced Technique.

HOUSE

The main fundamental and essence of House…

The Jack…Read more about it in this article. I list all the House teachers in NYC in the video but I left out Kim Holmes and Tone McGregor.

So please note them as well. When quarantine is over, I encourage everyone to take the House classes available in NYC and beyond. I cannot speak to the other teachers but the teachers listed in this video are all amazing.

A foundational step that leads into many more variations and understanding of footwork.
